Fall on South Louisiana's Tchefuncte River
Nestled amidst the vibrant heart of Louisiana, the Tchefuncte River stands as an extraordinary natural haven. During the enchanting fall season, this idyllic river transforms into a breathtaking tapestry of autumn hues. Towering cypress trees, their gnarled trunks and cypress knees adorned with cascading Spanish moss, ignite in a mesmerizing array of orange, red, and yellow. The leaves, like tiny embers, dance in the gentle fall breeze, casting a warm glow upon the tranquil waters below. Amidst this vibrant symphony of color, a variety of wildlife thrives. Curious alligators bask in the shallows, their scales shimmering in the sunlight, while birds of all shapes and sizes flit through the canopy, their melodious calls adding to the symphony of nature's orchestra. This workshop provides an exclusive opportunity to immerse yourself in the vibrant beauty of the Tchefuncte River's fall foliage. Embark on captivating sunrise and evening photo expeditions by boat, following the elusive light as it transforms the landscape. Venture into secluded havens, where the cypress trees stand tall, their branches adorned with a breathtaking palette of leaves. Capture the essence of this enchanting season and preserve the ephemeral beauty of the Tchefuncte River's autumn splendor.

Itinerary
Day 1: Meet at lodging location at 2:00pm for orientation. After orientation we will head out to explore some of my favorite places to photograph wildlife, nature, and sunsets on the Louisiana Northshore.

Day 2: Our day begins with an early start, meeting Captain Mike of Louisiana Tours and Adventures on the banks of the Tchefuncte River. We'll photograph breathtaking sunrise over Lake Pontchartrain and the Madisonville Lighthouse, setting the stage for our adventure. The morning will be spent navigating and photographing the swamps and tributaries along the Tchefuncte River, seeking out vibrant fall foliage and wildlife. We'll linger on the river until lunchtime, and then enjoy a riverside meal in the charming town of Madisonville.
Afternoon plans are flexible and depend on the weather. If skies are clear, we’ll hone our nature photography skills back at camp with a session on wildlife and nature photography. However, if clouds provide optimal lighting, we'll explore nearby locations for additional photo opportunities. As the day winds down, we'll return to the river, capturing the golden hues of the sunset over the Tchefuncte River or Lake Pontchartrain. During the evening, we'll continue to photograph and explore the beauty of the Tchefuncte River system.

Day 3: Our day begins with an early departure to meet Captain Mike of Louisiana Tours and Adventures on the Tchefuncte River. We'll set out to capture the breathtaking sunrise, whether it paints the river with golden hues or bathes the surrounding swamps in light. As on day 2, we'll spend the morning exploring the river, returning around lunchtime to enjoy a delicious meal in Madisonville. After lunch, we'll resume our adventure, photographing the diverse wildlife and vibrant fall foliage until our workshop concludes around 4pm. It will be a bittersweet farewell as we part ways after a day filled with natural beauty and photographic opportunities.
